Moulton Village Design Statement

Cheshire West and Chester Council adopted the Moulton Village Design Statement (VDS) as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on 17^th December 2009. The purpose of the document is to manage change in both landscape and buildings, whether large or small and to give a detailed guide to the character of the Parish. It sets out the specific nature of the landscape and features which makes the Parish distinctive, with guidelines on how to encourage new development that enhances and complements what already exists. The main aims of the VDS are:

• to provide guidance to residents for planning extensions or buildings, to ensure they harmonise and fit in to the local character;
• to provide additional guidance for planning officials in decisions affecting Moulton;
• to be used by architects, developers, and designers, who should use it to identify what features the residents of Moulton want to see in any developments
