From the Chair: Keeping the village tidy is a constant concern together with the ongoing dog waste problem. If we want to be proud of our village we must do all we can to avoid dropping litter, to stop fly tipping and to clean up after our dogs. The Council is arranging for Cheshire West and Chester Council to focus on this to target offenders. Following the elections in May the new Parish Council was formed (consisting pleasingly of many of the previous hard working Council). 3 vacancies remained – 2 of which are now filled. I therefore welcome Cllr Nick Harris and Cllr. Allan Aston to the Council. We still have one vacancy - if you are interested in applying please contact Elaine Beech, Clerk on 01606 888015 or at clerk@moultonpc.org.uk I know it is a little early but on behalf of the Parish Council I wish everyone the very best for the coming festive season. A reminder - the Remembrance Sunday parade will take place on 13th November and will start from Beehive corner at 10.10am. Please assemble at 9.45am. The parade will be followed by a service at St. Stephens Church with refreshments afterwards at the British Legion, Main Road. Christine Bowie Chair Moulton Parish Council |

Did you know that we have a site of historical interest in the village? It is a mound located on land at Moulton Bank Farm and dates from sometime during the late Neolithic period to the late Bronze Age (2400 -1500BC). The Parish Council is keen to ensure this that this site is not lost and is in contact with the Historic Environment Team at Cheshire West and Chester Council and English Heritage (who are in contact with the owner of the field) and it is hoped to provide a suitable signage to acknowledge its location and historical interest. |

Moulton Events Committee This year’s Crow Fair was another huge success. We enjoyed a variety of arena events, side shows plus a number of village groups ran games, stalls and tombolas providing a fun filled day for all age groups. The Auto Club displays and fun fair rides drew in the crowds, the bars and refreshment providers kept us all fed and watered and to top it all we enjoyed beautiful weather. So a big, big THANKS from the Moulton Events Committee to all village groups, club members and villagers for your attendance, support and participation. Our next Event will be a fund raising stall at the Christmas Fair. We hope you will come along to support the Crows and all other village organisations. We look forward to seeing you there and again at next year’s Crow Fair. Shelagh Hulme – Secretary - Moulton Events Committee - moulton.eventsec@btinternet.com |

The Group’s hardworking committee is wholly committed to strengthening membership and performance opportunities by inviting younger people (20-39 years) to come along to share the experience and enthusiasm of the existing members. Walking In And Around Moulton Many of you will know and use the many paths (rights of way) in and around the village. To help ensure paths are accessible the Parish Council, in conjunction with Davenham PC arranged a walk around some of these paths and more will be arranged – check the noticeboard at the Co-op or the website for details. Footpaths and rights of way around Moulton, Davenham and Bostock are published in a local map – contact the Parish Clerk clerk@moultonpc.org.uk if you’d like a copy. Cheshire West and Chester Council has recently upgraded the riverside path between New Bridge & Vale Royal Locks as part of the Weaver Parkway upgrade. The renovated path is now suitable for wheelchairs, cyclists, prams & disabled buggies and, ramblers & runners. It has a compacted smooth surface and width to allow people to walk safely in pairs. The path is a wonderful addition to the river environment and a major asset to the Parish enabling everyone to enjoy the countryside and wildlife in safety. It now means that it is possible to cycle from Vale Royal locks to Winsford without encountering road traffic and that shortly when the final section from the locks to Blue Bridge is completed the two salt towns of Northwich and Winsford will be connected via the riverside path. |

Well it’s been a fun packed summer for the Group; we had our annual camp at Ottley, Yorkshire. The kids (and staff) enjoyed a week of abseiling, kayaking, gorge walking and this year even caving. Our September intake was as popular as ever!! Seeing new members joining the Eagles & former Eagles joining our ADU group. Our Duke of Edinburgh group is bigger than ever this year. We have 7 successful Bronze Duke of Edinburgh passes & 2 nearly there. They will go to Chester Cathedral to accept their well deserved awards, and are now working towards their Silver awards. Even though the weather is getting chilly, that doesn’t stop us with a planned camping trip in November (yes - November we must be mad!!!) That’s why we live up to our name of Moulton Adventure Group.... |
